Our goal

The purpose of this blog is to share information related to the ongoing analysis of ceramic artifacts recovered from the archaeological sites of El Chichicaste and Dos Quebradas, Honduras. Beginning in 2007, the analysis of pottery remains from both sites has been challenging and exciting given that with few exceptions no long term research has taken place in this area.  As a result, little is known of the people that resided at El Chichicaste and Dos Quebradas.

We hope that by sharing our findings, our joint effort will deepen our understanding of  the cultural groups that inhabit this region of Honduras and the extent of the relationships that this particular area had with  neighboring places.

We welcome comments, observations, suggestions, and constructive feedback from fellow ceramicists, archaeologists, historians, and other social scientists working in Honduras and/or nearby countries.
